Beating the January Blues at Circle IT

Circle IT | Employee Wellbeing Month 2019

January is a time of optimism, renewal, new goals and a sense of making new healthy habits. For others, with the binge over Christmas, spending, the long month of January, as well as the cold weather, it can be depressing.

At Circle IT we recognise that people are the most important asset to our business and they are the ones that drive the profit. Therefore, we have introduced lots of wellbeing initiatives throughout the year to encourage our people to be motivated and healthy for work, so they can be at their most productive and give their absolute best.

Some initiatives include our Peakon surveys, where we look to get monthly feedback on a range of issues and how we are doing. We make sure we take action and drive change to make the working environment as positive as possible, so it is conducive with success for our people and our business. This is one example of how technology can help drive productivity through your business by integrating with the people strategy. The two are not mutually exclusive, and the People Strategy focuses heavily on how we can use technology to deliver a better employee experience, this is vital as the millennial workforce increases to over 50% of the total workforce by 2021.

We also offer private medical, discounted gym memberships, cycle to work, an employee assistance program as well as putting individuals through mental health first aid training at the tail end of last year. These benefits and initiatives are all run through our technology portals so they are easily accessible, and employees are always aware of what is on offer and can access resources quickly, easily and hassle free.

For ‘Blue Monday’, a term coined by researchers at Cardiff University some years ago, Circle IT will be publishing a range of articles and advice as well as offering free lunch to beat those blues, and on the 21st we launch our first ever Wellbeing Week, this includes seminars on nutrition, stress management and keeping active in work as well as massages, counselling sessions and desk reviews to ensure our people are making the most out of their environment to enhance their wellbeing.

Investing in this is an easy decision for us, putting our people first is at the heart of how we run our business.

We know if we look after them, they will look after you.

We wish you the best of luck with your own technology and people strategies going into 2019!
