Senior Project Manager

Location: Cardiff Gate Business Park, Cardiff (travel required as part of the role)

We’re looking for an efficient, customer focused Project Manager to join our project team as a Senior Project Manager.  The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional IT project and programme management to our large customer portfolio nationally. Outstanding communication, customer / stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills are critical for this role as is a dmonstrable track record of delivering a range (including large, complex) IT projects to time, quality, and budget.  Our Senior Project Managers must have experience and be comfortable working with stakeholder at all levels.  

The successful candidate will be expected to travel and work outside of the office for extended periods at client sites/meetings as required to ensure our work is delivered to a high standard.  We require our Senior Project Managers to have worked in an IT environment, with sound IT infrastructure knowledge.

The role attracts a salary of up to £45k per annum and will be negotiable depending on experience.

Qualifications, work experience and knowledge required


  • Proven experience of delivering and leading IT infrastructure projects and programmes to paying customers to time, cost and quality.
  • Strong forecasting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Delivery of projects in excess of £250,000k
  • Demonstrable experience of working within a commercial and project environment-and comfortable working with individuals of all levels. 
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • Strong project and programme management skills, specifically from an IT infrastructure environment.
  • Previously worked within an IT environment, with a sound IT infrastructure knowledge. 


  • PRINCE 2 practitioner qualification
  • ITIL Foundation



  • Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external); ability to influence, negotiate and take ownership of customer projects. Able to manage customer relationships and manage expectations both internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, with a drive and passion for proactively resolving issues.
  • Effective communication, commercial and leadership skill set
  • An ability and desire to travel- (large element of travel across the UK and working outside of office for extended periods)  
  • Approach- Professional, commercial, analytical, practical, customer focus and hands-on
  • Strong work ethic- Commitment to personal learning
  • Strong focus on providing exceptional project and service delivery
  • Organisational, efficiency and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team (unsupervised)
