We have an opportunity for a driven, customer focused IT Infrastructure professional, who is passionate about technology to join our service desk team in Cardiff Gate as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (3rd Line).
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is a professional that demonstrates exceptional leadership and technical capability. Someone who’s technically astute, is able to lead confidently under pressure, within a busy working environment and acts as a role model to others. Keeping abreast of the latest technologies and trends is an important element of the role as is understanding their importance and purpose within a business environment/context.
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting network problems, issues and providing 3rd line IT technical support to our customers as determined by the helpdesk team leader. Clear communication, customer focus and a solution mind-set are key skills to the role as the Senior Infrastructure Engineer is the main point of escalation for all site-down/systems down matters and escalations from the company’s 2nd line Infrastructure Analysts.
Supporting and providing an on-call service to our customers is expected and travel to and from customer sites may be required.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange administration.
Experience of working in an IT service desk environment and customer services role previously.
Experience of working to strict SLAs / exposure to SLA Management.
Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced environment.
Full and valid UK driver’s license.
A relevant technical qualification is desirable (e.g. MCSE, CCNS, CCS, VCP).
An advanced and in-depth understanding of the following technologies:Outstanding leadership capabilities and characteristics- able to mentor and act as a role model to others (internal and external)
Excellent customer services and communication skills (written, face to face and by telephone)
Excellent telephone manner and customer engagement skills
Practical problem solving and negotiation skills
Strong prioritisation and troubleshooting skills
An understanding of Apple-OX and device support desirable
Approach- Proactive, dynamic, assertive, driven and enthusiastic
Eager to learn and develop and to share knowledge with others
Passionate about providing excellent customer service
Strong team work ethic
