Technology specialist Circle IT has adopted Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales as its charity of 2010 – and will supply up to £10,000 of technical support free of charge.
Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales is a registered charity providing specialist Bobath therapy to children in Wales who have cerebral palsy. It depends on donations to help disabled children throughout Wales.
The agreement with Cardiff-based Circle IT will remove a major cost for the charity and ensure that it has a top quality and secure information system.
Circle IT sales director Steve Bent said, "Bobath Children’s Therapy Centre Wales does amazing work and relies on fundraising and donations to enable it to help so many children. The charity needs robust IT systems to manage its operations and communications efficiently and securely.
We visited the centre when they were looking for new IT support and were so impressed that we decided that we would provide them with help during 2010-11 at no charge."
Circle IT is the largest IT Support and Systems Integrator of its kind in Wales. Based at Cardiff Gate it currently provides IT support and managed services to more than a hundred organisations throughout Wales and the rest of the UK. The company is Wales’s only Microsoft Gold, Citrix Silver, Dell Certified Enterprise and VMware Enterprise partner and specialises delivering Enterprise infrastructure solutions and services to small and medium businesses.
Fundraising manager for Bobath, Gail Griffiths, said, "A donation in kind such as Circle IT’s is extremely valuable to the centre. Their generosity will ensure our IT system keeps running efficiently at no cost to Bobath."
Every six hours a child is born who will have cerebral palsy. This affects a child’s ability to move and develop in the normal way and each child is affected differently. There is no cure for cerebral palsy, but specialist Bobath therapy combines physiotherapy, speech and language and occupational therapy giving children a better quality of life and help them fulfil their true potential.
