University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has appointed Circle IT to undertake a major IT project for the university. The upgrade will create a modern, energy efficient network infrastructure to improve the overall use of technology for students, staff and visitors at each of the university’s campuses.
As part of the project, the company will provide the new IT infrastructure for the university’s new £300m SA1 Swansea Waterfront development as well as working on its wider Network Blueprint.

“As well as providing the IT Infrastructure for the university’s new SA1 Swansea Waterfront development, Circle IT will also be working with us on our wider Network Blueprint as well as replacing our existing SAN (Storage Area Network) for the whole University. Much effort has gone into designing the new SA1 Swansea Waterfront development network, SAN and Network Blueprint and we are in the final stages of completing the high-level design and planning.”

A modern, energy efficient, network infrastructure, leading to a reduction in the University’s emissions output and carbon footprint
A new and consistent security design across both wired and wireless networks
A new simplified Guest Wi-Fi solution
New SA1 Waterfront development IT Infrastructure
An enhanced user experience for all network users to ensure staff and students alike enjoy seamless, secure, reliable and fast connectivity
Simplifying access to the wireless network and increasing flexibility via eduroam
