Investing in people is good for business

Circle IT is working towards Investors in People accreditation – which more than half of the Sunday Times 'Top 50 Best Companies to Work For' currently have. IIP is a nationally recognised business standard that sets out levels of good practice for the training and development of people to achieve business goals.

Circle IT wants to achieve IIP for the benefit of employees and business performance. We had recruited an internal training & development facilitator, to deliver a wide range of training to provide staff with the skills they need to do their jobs better, and at the same time, achieve success and satisfaction in their work. Processes have also been put in place to review staff development continually. In addition, an induction process was set up to ensure thorough initiation of new staff. So Investors in People was seen as the next step to enhance the best practice already in place.

As a result, according to Circle IT’s IIP assessment report, 'staff feel very positive about the way the company is managed and its caring approach to people.'There is 'a positive working environment in which staff feel valued, resulting in high levels of commitment to the company... Staff felt empowered to contribute and make decisions.'

Managing Director, Roger Harry said, "We've always focused on developing employees to their full potential. The enthusiasm of our staff and the general positive atmosphere in the office is something that visitors to the company often remark upon. Working towards award underlines our commitment to our people and their development. Each one of our employees is an ambassador for Circle IT. They are the power behind our business and so it's important to equip them with the skills and the knowledge they need to help push the company forward. And we don't just focus on developing skills alone - at the same time we invest heavily in providing our employees with the tools and resources to support them in their work."
