Cardiff-based Circle IT has launched its own disaster recovery system – CDR (Circle Disaster Recovery).
The system ensures data is held off-site and is backed up every second of the day, to ensure information is safe, even in the event of theft, fire or flood. CDR is the only one of its kind in Wales.
Circle IT recently surveyed Welsh companies, and found more than two-thirds of organisations are leaving themselves open to data loss – despite all of them reporting they have back-ups on site.
Roger Harry, Circle IT’s Managing Director, said: "Many business people surveyed think their back up systems will prevent data loss. However many are mistaken and are at risk from serious IT failures that could cost them dear."
"For even if they have back-up systems in place, most will not be able to prevent a significant loss of data or system configurations that are vital to the running of the business – should their network server fail due to a fault, virus, or sabotage."
"Circle IT’s breakthrough is in bringing down the cost of such a recovery service - to make CDR affordable for even small SMEs. It’s a small investment, but one that can save a business."
