We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, customer focused Infrastructure Engineer, who is passionate about technology and enjoys keeping up-to-date with the latest technological trends, to join our expanding team at Circle IT.
We’re on the lookout for an Infrastructure Engineer with a good knowledge of networks & communication technologies and server infrastructure technologies including all Windows Server variants & roles. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to continuously learn and develop their technological skills.
Based at a client site in Cardiff, you will be responsible for providing customer service and technical support to users at Cardiff & Vale College (CAVC), alongside our on-site team at the College.
You will be required to carry out a DBS check for this position.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Management of reactive and proactive support calls
Call logging and troubleshooting issues within time constraints
Resolving support queries or diagnosing issues
Providing cover for our 1st Line Support Team at CAVC Main point of escalation for multi-user issues and escalations from the Service Desk, where the 1st Line Team have not been able to resolve an issue.
Experience of working in a technical customer service IT support role (desktop) previously
Experience of working in a customer services role
Exposure to working within SLAs
Demonstrable experience of working in a fast-paced working environment
Full and valid UK driver’s license
You are able and happy to complete an enhanced DBS check
A relevant technical qualification (desirable)
An advanced understanding/working knowledge and confident with the following technologies:
Excellent customer services and communication skills
Excellent telephone manner and customer engagement skills
Practical problem solving and negotiation skills
Strong prioritisation and troubleshooting skills
A basic understanding of Apple-OSX (desirable)

Eager to learn and develop and to share knowledge with others
Passionate about IT and providing excellent customer service
Strong team work ethic
