An exciting opportunity for an experienced manager with an IT Services background has just become available at Circle IT in Cardiff.

Circle IT is Wales’ largest provider of IT support and consultancy, supporting over 100 customers with over 3,000 users. We ensure that our customers receive the absolute best in productive and cost-effective IT support, allowing them to get on with their business with the minimum of interruption.

As the Head of Support Services, you will be using your skills in a bustling office environment, leading and managing the support team, ensuring quality in providing service offerings on infrastructure ranging from firewalls through to entire infrastructure solutions using cutting edge technology.

You will be expected to use your experience to provide leadership and direction to the support services department, as well as getting hands on in the management of escalated issues.  It is essential that you have a track record of continual service improvement.

There may be an element of travel and working outside of the office for extended periods at client sites or vendor meetings. The Head of Support Services will be required to have a solid grounding in Technology, Leadership and customer service with a can do attitude which strives for continual improvement.

Qualifications, work experience and knowledge required

  • Experience of working within an ITIL accredited technical customer service and IT management role (preferably in a managed services company)
  • Exposure of managing expectations and working within an SLA’s and OLA’s service desk working environment
  • A technical background/experience to provide mentorship to the team
  • Demonstrable experience of management and leadership roles- team and people management, working with individuals of all levels, reporting on management information
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a fast paced working environment with diverse teams
  • Full UK Drivers Licence
  • An IT related degree of 2:1 or equivalent desirable 

Skills (including technical)

  • Leadership and management skills including experience of recruitment, performance management and leading a team to success.
