With over 100 staff including 11 partners and 49 fee earners, Harding Evans has expanded significantly to become the biggest firm in Gwent and the eighth largest in Wales.

With an ageing selection of PCs running disparate software and operating systems, Harding Evans staff were experiencing ever increasing issues with their day-to-day computing requirements.

Compounding these challenges was the growing demand for several of members of staff to gain information and access to their key business applications whilst on the move. Harding Evans was also concerned that their contigency plans in the event of a major system failure or disaster wasn't adequate enough and they urgently needed a robust disaster recovery policy in place.

The Solution The Solution

Circle IT proposed a solution that offered Harding Evans effective remote and mobile working, and a way to efficiently and automatically deploy and rollout a standard interface across its new hardware.

Circle IT also suggested that Harding Evans should conduct offsite replication of its servers for added resilience. All of the other providers approached by the firm were only offering onsite replication. which would leave the firm vulnerable in the event of an onsite threat becoming a reality, such as a natural disaster or theft.

To meet Harding Evans' ever increasing demands on IT, Circle IT migrated the firm's current services onto new servers which are fully backed through network redundancy.

In addition, to help the firm meet its compliance requirements and to protect its business assets fully, Circle IT upgraded Harding Evans to an enterprise class firewall with failover, and also implemented new network switches to replace the firm's older and somewhat outdated equipment.
